Mariemont, Ohio and Fairfax, Ohio March 2, 2014 4:12 pm–4:37 pm cold and grey with constant ice pellets 25 °F long-sleeved shirt, leggings, fleece-lined jeans, fleece jacket, fleece scarf, winter coat, wool socks, snow pants, fleece-lined wool hat with earflaps, fuzzy gloves waited out the morning’s freezing rain before venturing out to draw carillon concert in distance pelting sound of ice pellets hitting paper (soon froze to paper; thawed and dried later, inside) one bird singing a few cars no pedestrians ice pellets grabbed ink, bounced and rolled, then stuck shook off cascade of white, black, all shades of grey ice pellets when finished fingers got cold walking back
