Johnson, Vermont July 31, 2014 2:12 pm–3:14 pm rainy at beginning; sunny at end 62 °F short-sleeve shirt, hiking pants, rain jacket, rain pants, water sandals, rain hat, hair pulled back splat of water on paper sheltered somewhat under young tree light rain; then heavy rain with brief periods of thunder and lightning (not close); eventually rain stopped and sun came out (nearly cloudless sky at end) sound of river emerged as weather quieted periodic breeze dislodged fat drops from leaves above, repeatedly wetting my paper long after rain had ceased tiny Argentine ants crawled across my drawing board (but not my drawing) several people I knew passed by; one handed me UPS tracking numbers set drawing in hot slice of sun in studio to dry
