Johnson, Vermont     July 15, 2014     2:54 pm–4:13 pm     light rain turned to steady rain, then lighter, finally stopped     79 °F (heat index 81 °F)     short-sleeve shirt, hiking pants, water shoes, rain hat, hair pulled back, put on rain pants partway through     patter and splatter of raindrops on paper     a few birds chirping     squeak and groan of trucks     whoosh and grumble of cars     got very warm (and uncomfortable) in rain pants     a few people walking on other side of street     voices floating over from porch of corner store     one person called from across the street, asked what I was drawing
