Fairfax, Ohio with a glimpse of Cincinnati, Ohio     December 25, 2014     9:34 am–10:12 am     cold with some drizzle and cold breeze     38 °F     long-sleeved shirt, leggings, flannel-lined jeans, wool socks, wool fleece–lined slides, fleece jacket, rain pants, winter coat, fleece hat, bare hands     birds chirping     patter of drops on paper     swoosh of traffic a few blocks away     occasional greetings of “Merry Christmas” carried through the air     my children said hi, passing by     sounds of people in the neighborhood     fingers got cold
