Fairfax, Ohio     April 3, 2014     8:44 am–9:36 am     grey with steady rain (lighter or heavier at times)     52 °F     long-sleeved shirt, jeans, fleece jacket, rain jacket, rain pants, wool socks, rain boots, rain hat     fat drops falling from tree branches above     rush of rising creek beneath     a few birds chirping     church bells on the hour     smell of wet, rotting plant material     smell of exhaust as car splashed by     organic bits falling from trees onto paper     stream or drops of water falling from my hat depending on angle of my head     water kept washing drawing away (distressing paper made it hold the ink better)     fingers got slightly cold and stiff     drawing dried fully over the course of a day and night
