Fairfax, Ohio     October 5, 2014     7:34 pm–8:25 pm     cool and dark with a few brief patters of rain     51 °F     long-sleeved shirt, flannel-lined jeans, wool socks, rain boots, fleece jacket, rain jacket, rain pants, fleece-lined wool hat with earflaps     undulating sound of faint crickets all over     sky turned from icy blue to a magenta purple     traffic quietly whooshing at my back     one or two cars came into street; brief voices     skinny squirrel raced over grass     train in distance     a few people came up behind me quickly, crossing street to avoid me (one woman told dog it didn’t need to look)     multiple airplanes with bright lights roared overhead
