Cincinnati, Ohio December 20, 2014 4:00 pm–4:32 pm cold and dim with a few little snow bits flying 32 °F long-sleeved shirt, leggings, fleece-lined jeans, snow pants, fleece jacket, fleece scarf, winter coat, fleece-lined wool hat with earflaps, fuzzy gloves dogs barking in distance hum from inflatable snowman across street a few cars came through neighborhood (one into driveway next to me, then left) some voices in neighborhood, doors opening, closing muted rush of traffic a block or two away young man came up, watched, said “that’s awesome,” said he also draws—usually birds; sometimes people, offered me a candy cane, later walked on muted chirps of birds church bells, briefly
