Fairfax, Ohio February 25, 2014 1:13 pm–1:44 pm cool and breezy 31 °F long-sleeved shirt, leggings, flannel-lined jeans, wool socks, wool fleece–lined slides, fleece jacket, fleece scarf, winter coat, fleece-lined wool hat with earflaps, two pair thin gloves (one fingerless), snow pants metal clank, rumble dulled roar of machinery quiet twittering of birds, gradually got louder and more insistent wind chimes airplane zooming overhead loud train whistle directional white noise of traffic sun appeared briefly cold walking there definitive butterscotch-vanilla smell (periodically wafting and strong enough to be distracting) of Jeffrey/ponderosa (no one seems quite sure which one owns that scent) pine, though they cannot be present here
