Fairfax, Ohio     January 30, 2014     9:12 am–9:25 am     cold and still     13 °F (windchill around 3–6 °F)     long-sleeved shirt, leggings, fleece-lined jeans, fleece pullover, snow pants, winter coat, fleece scarf, fleece-lined wool hat with earflaps, wool socks, snow boots, thin gloves, ski gloves     bird chirps and twitters     faint hum of city     dog barking inside     sat directly in snow; toes got cold and hurt, fingers started getting cold     ink flash froze on paper immediately; after a while flash froze on built up ink-ice on pen (sometimes before I could get it to the paper)     thawed, dried later inside     sugary smell of Kellogg factory on walk back     (church bells playing hymns on walk there)
