Pasadena, California     May 15, 2014     7:31 pm–8:59 pm     warm, cooling slightly as sun disappeared     88 °F     short-sleeve shirt, jeans, sandals, hair pulled back     voices, people passing by (with and without dogs)     clatter of gate opening and closing     crickets chirping at record pace     traffic close by     sirens     darkness fell; streetlights came on     trash cans got rolled away near beginning; car parked in front of me near end     (ran out of water to drink)     jetlagged, but nothing compares to the feeling of being home     someone said, “You’ve been here for a while; you must be doing something awesome.”
