Johnson, Vermont     July 6, 2014     9:05 pm–10:18 pm     cool with fading light into black sky     73 °F     short-sleeve shirt, hiking pants, sandals     sound of water pouring from hose onto plants     fireworks crackling and fizzing     white noise of river     girl squeezed past on bicycle     some traffic     mosquitoes hovering (biting?)     lights went on and off as people left for the night     main light source shifted from sky to street and interior/exterior lights     a few people passed     tired—had to make drawing board first
